용준형은 4월29일, 자신의 트위터를 통해 “힘이나네 전화한통에”라는 의미심장한 글을 남겼다. 이에 FT아일랜드 이홍기는 “나야 나야? 나도 방금 전화했잖아! 아니기만 해봐”라는 멘션을 달았고 용준형은 곧바로 “당연히 홍..홍기지”라며 멋쩍은 듯 “허허허 하하하”웃으며 “넌 이미 예상하고 있잖아”라는 알쏭달쏭한 말을 남겼다.
계속해서 이홍기가 “야 쑥쓰럽다!”라고 남기자 용준형은 “물론 홍기 전화도 굉장히 힘이 나고 너 전화오기 조금전에… 여기까지만 할게”라는 답을 남겼다.
당시 비스트 팬들은 “용준형이 여자친구가 생긴 것이 아니냐”고 의심을 했지만 시간이 지나며 일단락되는 듯 했다. 하지만 6월28일, 구하라와의 열애설이 터진 것.
